Job Summary

Elevar Therapeutics is hiring a VP, Commercial Operations, responsible for building and leading, from the ground up, a commercial operations team including hiring and leading a team of commercial operations professionals, developing processes and commercial operations infrastructure and capabilities, establishing organizational success metrics, and developing and achieving strategic priorities.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the VP, Commercial Operations, will serve as a key member of the commercial leadership team and corporate senior leadership team. The VP, Commercial Operations will bring an ability to operate at a strategic and senior level, applying his/her experience and knowledge of commercial operations and commercialization to ensure a successful launch and sustainable growth for our portfolio of launches over the coming years.

Job Details

  • Key member of Commercial Leadership Team helping prepare for global commercial launches, deliver commercial success, and develop commercial talent.
  • Build and lead the Commercial Operations organization and strategy for two assets with multiple oncology launches.
  • Work with cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, IT, Compliance, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Training, Supply) to ensure strong communication and collaboration that leads to exceptional performance.
  • Focus on field-based team strategy/performance/data analytics, sales force deployment, customer targeting/segmentation, CRM build out and launch.
  • Use business analytics, competitive intelligence and marketing sciences to provide performance and market-based insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Build and lead Master Data Management, Reporting and, Sales Analytics function that will procure, collect, and store all data for the commercial organization. Develop data governance to ensure centralized data acquisition and supplier management and implement data quality process for master data.
  • Collaborate with IT to lead overall commercial enterprise strategy related to data and CRM.
  • Implement and manage an incentive compensation program and corporate policy; establish a management control policy and ensure communication of policy to field and various internal departments; ensure management oversight of program; select and manage vendor of choice.
  • Lead all aspects of Sales Force Automation (SFA) design, development, enhancements, and implementation ensuring cross-functional business support.
  • Oversee and guide the development of short-term sales forecasts and updates.
  • Implement ongoing process improvement, resource optimization, quality management, timeliness and accuracy of all products and services from all functional areas that support the Commercial organization.
  • Work collaboratively with the Information Technology organization to ensure the development of commercial data strategies and systems that will allow the company to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the commercial organization.
  • Drive business insights (through collaboration with Marketing on market research and competitive intelligence) that lead to acute understanding of existing and future market dynamics that may influence success of the brands.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop deep customer insights to shape our product and disease strategies.
  • Partner with Training to ensure impactful and relevant pre and post launch training.
  • Partner with Market Access on the development of a value proposition, patient support services and key market access resources.
  • Champion and support Sales Leadership to ensure strong pull-through and cohesion internally and externally.
  • Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, product acceptance and new product launches and indications.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced science/medical degree is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with 10+ years commercial operations leadership experience.
  • Proven leadership in a combination of commercial roles (sales, market access, operations), as well as strategic impact across multiple functions and an exceptional track record in Oncology product launches.
  • Ideal candidate has a combination of small / start-up company experience as well as working at established biopharmaceutical companies.
  • Experience in designing/managing/implementing sales CRM, specialty reimbursement hubs, copay and patient assistance programs, and business intelligence reporting platforms.
  • High analytical capability with history of leveraging data and analytical techniques to optimize business decisions.
  • Demonstrated mastery of analytical responsibilities.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of commercial operations and analytical functions within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical secondary data sources (IQVIA, HMS, Symphony Health, claims data etc.).
  • Experience in sales force strategy and optimization projects.
  • Bring scientific credibility and influence, learning agility, a creative and innovative mindset and approach, a sense of urgency, and a high level of engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in the conception, development, and execution of commercial operations experience for highly specialized products in the US and EU including a track record of successful product launches.
  • A strong understanding of the global healthcare system, including the legal and regulatory environment with a commitment to compliance.
  • Must be able to analyze financial data as well as industry data related to sales, market share, price/volume, market research, etc. Must be able to maximize all market research data and communicate its results and application.
