Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant will work within the Accounting department. The role involves assisting accounting officials/senior management in the maintenance, reporting and management of the company’s finances. The position will provide administrative support and may also advise senior accountants in relation to the company’s overall accounting process.

Job Details

  • Management of petty cash transactions
  • Data entry and process management of Accounts Payable
  • Maintain supporting documents for all vendor invoices
  • Prepare weekly accounts payable runs
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Receive, verify and record employee expense reports
  • Ensuring all payments amounts & records are accurate
  • Assist with filing, data entry, bookkeeping, mail and phone calls
  • Working with journals, sales & purchase ledgers and spreadsheets
  • Assist with local, state, federal and international tax reporting requirements, compliance and filings
  • Assist with planning and budget control
  • Assist qualified Accountants with audits and the preparation of financial reports

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting related experience
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and word, Quickbooks a plus
