LSKB seeks to hire a Business Development Associate
Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of business development activities (out-license and in-license research, valuations/models and other value driving documentation, competitive and prospective client research, and relationship building) and participating in developing infrastructure to support current and future drug development. Act as liaison between Business Development and vendors for implementation of corporate strategy. Ensure detailed, written documentation of activity planning and execution to assist in development of incoming and current drug candidates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct research independently and in collaboration with vendors and colleagues that informs strategy, planning and execution of drug candidate licensing
• Document license strategies for both outgoing and incoming drug candidates
• Develop and refine documentation supporting business development including but not limited to slides, development plans and brochures
• Maintain confidential and non-confidential documentation to be readily available and up-to-date for partnering activity
• Track ongoing work and follow up with potential partners and BD vendors including maintaining log of interactions and document sharing with summaries of key activity
• Facilitate and participate in screening of potential licensing opportunities
• Works with project team leaders and project team members on implementation of strategies that support company and development objectives
• Produce and maintain financial accountability for projects including budgets and accruals
• Supports and enhances good relationship building with potential partners and key stakeholders including vendors and advisors
• Assist with creating, refining and maintaining supporting clinical development documentation in support of clinical trial and business development activity
• May assist with clinical and product development or other areas as needed to support corporate objectives
Experience and Education Required:
• Bachelor’s level degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing or RN preferred
• 3+ years business development experience or a similar duration of experience with a combination of business and clinical project management experience
• Able to provide project management expertise to business development
• Familiar with advanced concepts of project management, pharmaceutical licensing and able to work effectively in a team environment
• Able to take initiative in proactively seeking solutions to enable project efficiency and success
• Able to deal with time demands, incomplete information or unexpected events
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of basic computer applications used in general office setting, including word processing
• Excellent skills in spreadsheets, database management, presentation software and internet search engines
• Excellent written and verbal skills required with intermediate math and standard English grammar and usage
• Able to travel approximately 20% overnight (50% or greater during peak times)
